Dripping Tap Sound Effect and Video

The other day as I was out and about on my travels, visiting someone. I noticed that they had a dripping tap, so of course I thought of you my viewers and subscribers. So once again I got out my trusty Zoom H1n sound recorder and my wonderful Sony RX100 to do spot of Monotony TV. However, it was not that easy, as I wanted to record the pure sound of a tap dripping without other ambient background sounds being recorded. So I arranged to come back at night, so that the odd bird or shouting neighbour did not interfere with the recording.

Dripping Tap Annoying Sound Effect

For me and also for many other people, the sound of a dripping tap can be rather annoying. However, maybe you are an ex plumber and the sound of a dripping tap cheers your day up. Is each drip another coin into your pocket? We all have our own personal sound effects that effect us in different ways. However, I am sure that for most of us this one can be categorised under annoying sound effects.

Now when I did actually return to the kitchen with the offending dripping tap, I had to experiment a little. I used certain kitchen items to enhance the dripping tap sound effect. In the end though I settled for the water dripping into the plastic cup. This gave a rather pleasing drip sound effect , as the water fell into the full cup. I suppose in the future (providing they do not have the tap fixed) I could try seeing how the drip sounded on a larger variety of objects. The trouble is that sometimes you have to make do with things that are close to hand.
