Film Projector Sound Effect
I wonder in these more modern times, how many people still remember the sound of a film projector? The film projector made a rather lovely mechanical sound. Back in the day, film was stored on reels. The full reel was mounted on one end of the projector, then the film was gently unwound and passed through a series of rollers and gates. On it’s journey the film would pass over a very bright light. This bright light would then project any image on the film, through a lens and onto a large screen. Eventually the film would wind onto an empty reel. Well that is a rough idea of how the process worked.
Mechanical Sound of a Film Projector
So as you can tell from the paragraph above, the whole process of a film projector is mechanical. The Mechanical Sound of the Film Projector, in my opinion added to the enjoyment of watching a film. As the film is passed through the projector, small cogs or sprockets would engage with holes in the side of the film, this created a wonderful clicking sound.
