Why should you fill out the YouTube “About” Tab on your channel? You might think that nobody, except for the odd weirdo, reads the About Tab on your channel. Well you may well be right, BUT, did you know that the YouTube Algorithm reads it? The YouTube algorithm reads many metrics on your channel, from the title of your videos, the description, the tags and much, much more.

Fill the YouTube About Tab with Keywords

So if the YouTube Algorithm uses the About Tab as part of its algorithm, to asses your channel and videos. The you really should be filling the About Tab with relevant information of what your YouTube Channel is about.

Write a great description of what your YouTube Channel is about! Stuff that description with keywords that relate to your channel. Those keywords really need to be what people may be searching for.

One of my channels is about knotting, so you would want keywords like; How to Tie Knots; Decorative Knot Tutorials; Most Common Useful Knots for Sailors etc etc.
