What is Pink Noise?
Often we hear of the terms white noise, brown noise and pink noise. The most common of these sounds which you have probably heard of, is white noise. However, these are broken down into white, pink and brown noise. These noises are a steady constant static sound, like on an old untuned television or radio. In simple terms pink noise has a lower pitch than white noise.
What is Pure Pink Noise Used For?
White, brown and pink noise are commonly used to help with sleep or study. Depending on which one you prefer, it can be played to help drown out unwanted distractions. Pink noise is also a sound that can be used to help your baby to fall asleep, most importantly stay asleep. The constant hum of the pink noise will help to drown out unwanted sounds that could startle your baby.
White Noise, Brown Noise and Pink Noise to Help You Study or Sleep
So which of the three white, brown or pink noise will help me to sleep the best? In order to find out which of the three sounds suits you best, we would suggest that you try all three to start with. Then once you have found a particular one that suits you or your baby the best, then play it a number of times for a longish time, so that you get more used or comforted by it. Pink Noise To Help Your Baby to Sleep
If you are unfortunate enough to have a baby that will not go to sleep easily, or has a tendency to wake in the night. Then perhaps the solution would be for you to use the sound of white noise, brown noise or pink noise. The first thing that you need to do is test all three sounds on your baby. By playing one of the three sounds, you are looking to see if your baby shows any form of dislike to that sound. If one of the three sounds is preferable, then you need to get your baby conditioned to that sound. Don’t play the sound when the baby is wide awake, get them used to hearing that sound when they are starting to show signs of tiredness. Then after a few times of playing the sound, your baby will associate the sound with sleep and relaxation. Keep playing your chosen sound after your baby has fallen asleep, as this will then block or dull out any unwanted sounds
Pink Noise to Block Unwanted Sounds
The good thing about Pink noise sounds is that it can help to block out unwanted sounds. So, if you are studying and want to block out any distractions, then Pink, White, or Brown Noise could be your go to sound for study.
